Cadenza for Mozart Piano Concerto K. 488
on: June 18, 2014, 01:28:10 AM
I'm learning this concerto for an upcoming concerto competition and was wondering if there is an alternate cadenza that is published that could be used instead of Mozart's cadenza.  I have learned the original Mozart cadenza ... I am just wondering if there are other options available.

I know I can always write my own.  If I do choose to write my own cadenza, can someone please give me some advice on which themes would work??  Thanks.

There are cadenzas by Busoni, Joseffy, Muller, Reinecke and Sichida on IMSLP.

If you choose to write your own, a look at what these have chosen to utilise, and in what manner, would be highly informative.
