Massage licensing depends on the state. California she's ok, no special license needed.
If there is a way you can check with your agency (perhaps call from your non-home phone and act like you're checking as a potential customer) you may be surprised to find that your homeowner's insurance does NOT cover home business where clients are to come in and out. That is what my guy told me, because I have a computer graphics business which doesn't involve seeing anyone in my home, so I am ok, but a business whose nature is to have clients in and out is NOT covered. You may find that you are at risk. I am sure you can get a special addendum to cover it....it's because your business creates more liability than just a normal homeowner having a guest now and then, you have many people every day over at your house so the risk for someone injuring themselves is greater. True my roommate, with the physical contact going on , that is even probably MORE risk. I hate to tell her she can't do it because she's been excited, setting up the room.....but it's my home!
