For the first time in its 400 odd year history the (English) position of Master of the Queen's Music has been filled by a woman - the composer (no doubt soon to be Dame) Judith Weir.
Largely a composer of vocal and choral works, she does have a number of pieces specifically for piano, including a Piano Concerto and a small number of solo pieces. Many of her vocal works, and some instrumental pieces, have piano accompaniment or a significant piano part.
For those interested, she is published by Chester and Novello primarily. The best selection of her work I have found is through
Presto Classical.
