Eight Hands/Two Pianos
on: July 15, 2014, 02:01:38 AM
We have a little 8 hand club going and are looking for original works written for two pianos, eight hands. Anything and everything. Anybody got any leads, or, better yet, free downloads?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, J. We have most of these, but I did find a nice collection the second time through.
I've been taking the scores and fitting them into clear plastic sheets on a binder, otherwise there is paper chaos as well as aural chaos (plenty of that). It's harder playing with four pianists than, say, with a piano and three strings, as the bows provide excellent cues.

We have also been using this:

Complements IMSLP pretty well.
Best,

There are pieces out there....not free.
Carmen Fantasy, Waltz from Faust, Stars and Stripes,Picture from an Exhibition, Rondo (Smentana) Sabre Dance (Tan).....go to sheet music plus and look there. Have fun.

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
