Hello.

I'm a piano student. I am self taught and I have been playing the piano for about 2 years now but I've recently got more involved in it; having also played the violin to a high standard, I hope to play the piano to a high standard. So, I have included two recordings of two pieces of music for your criticism. My piano is very old and needs tuning but I'm more concerned about my technique, as I'm worried about bad habits I've developed in my playing. :)

It is too hard to tell. As you say, the piano is not good and I'm afraid that this, itself, could give you some bad habits. To me it sounds like you are hitting the keys too hard, but I know that pianos in that condition often demand a hard touch ...

When you write that you have played the violin I smile a bit, because you kind of play the piano like you were playing the violin ... at least my thoughts immediately went in that direction when I heard the second piece.
I think you should benefit a lot from getting another piano, perhaps a digital (with good action of course, otherwise it is NOT recommended) because they are always perfectly tuned and easy to record, and then you can listen to yourself. That could be very revealing.

I went from sax to piano.

I have had to learn to think much more about harmony, now that there is more than one note. Generally, (barring stops) the violin is a melodic instrument. From your playing it seems to me that although your melody is ringing out clear, the left hand is very utilitarian, it does a job no more.

Touch comes of course, every finger every note is important

Yes, hard to comment with such an old piano and no video.
You should get a decent (digital) piano to be sure you adapt to the right key action, without a decent piano there's not much point trying to get you to a higher level.
