Of course I know the one to which you refer and am inclined broadly to agree with Thal here. Ogdon at his best was also splendid in that work, as was Cherkassky live when I heard him years ago.

At the risk of going somewhat off-topic, have you ever come across a piece entitled Après un Lecture de Liszt?...
