I was most happily unmarried to my husband for 23 years. We realized rather soon after our engagement in 1989 that we hate big weddings. However, finally we decided that we should get those last papers, seemed to be a smart move, so we officially and legally got married in October -12. No name changes, no bl**dy rings (I hate rings too) and no guests invited. Afterwards we bought ourselves a lovely bunch of roses and had a meal at McDonald's and it was awfully romantic the whole thing.

I had also just got my new piano so I celebrated a bit at home by playing Mendelsohn's Wedding March with the church organ voice ...
