Where do you buy coconut water?

It's supposed to be healthy.  I did find some four pack cans from the Philippines but it makes me wonder.

Is this something you can buy in the US without it being too expensive?

Driving to the beach to pick up coconuts for two hours fetches enough to last for one month. Anyway the water tastes funny and will give you quite the quaint laxative effect.

It's just not cheap and the brands are strange.

I might stick with bananas and potassium vitamins.  Or Gatorade.

I just haven't heard of them before.  Where I normally shop there's one option.  Brand I never heard of.  Comes from the Philippines.  Makes me hesitate.

If you are trying something new, it would seem within reason to also be looking at a brand that is also new to you.  What is wrong with coconut water from the Philippines?  I would be much more suspicious of coconut water coming from a country that does not grow coconuts.

Yeah, I saw that, about coconuts being grown there.

Just that I haven't heard of them, and I don't know what their food standards are.  Possibly they're less able to control their quality or might do a "Let's see what people in the US will buy."

You're unlucky! Where I live (Hong Kong), bottled/canned coconut water has gone from unheard of to ubiquitous. There are Manna shops everywhere, and they sell coconut water in glass bottles. Even regular shops often sell coconut water (I think from Thailand).

Yeah, I'm not in a coconut capital of the world here.
