Maybe it's not such a familiar name but I well remember Jan Ekier for first introducing me to the Chopin Ballades, on one of these old Telefunken LP's. A defining moment in one's piano life !
Another stalwart of that series was Halina Czerny-Stefanska. Seems like a great generation of
Polish Chopin players has gone...
