A 10 years old child practicing The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2, mov 1 (Moonlight Sonata) for an upcoming recital. Feedback is welcomed.

Playing is definitely very good for his age. Nice range of dynamics although some parts could be a bit more pianissimo. Nonetheless, very nice and well played. Out of curiosity, what's up with his fingering at 4:04? Finger one shouldn't need to leave the C#. Is it because his hands are not big enough yet?

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll ask him to work on the pianissimo. (Regarding your question about 4:04, I asked him and yes the reason is that his hands are not yet big enough, he turned 10 a few days ago and can barely reach some of ninths of this piece.)

Oh I see. But he played very well. I'll admit that when I first read your post I thought, "Oh, great, another child trying to play Sonata 14."

But I was impressed by how he managed to play it wth such a good range of dynamics. If he continues to play like that, I definitely see a bright future for him. Mind if I ask, but how long has he been playing for?

Thank you for your encouraging message. This November will be three years since he started piano. He practices about 20min every day, except Fridays (and holidays).
