Hello!

Just wondering if you guys listen to music while reading books, if so, what kind of music?

Greetings,

Not for any book worth reading.

It's a good question. My answer is no, I cannot do anything else if I am to deeply perceive music, and anything less than that degree of involvement will not do. A short while ago I allowed myself to get into the habit of picking up my iPad and using it while listening to the hi-fi. After a month or two I realised its destructive capability.

The answer for me, therefore, is no; music is either totally present or completely absent.

I wish I could listen to music while reading, but I can't.  The music draws me away from my reading.  I wish I could omniawarely both fully enjoy the music and read.  Music commands my attention.

I've tried, but have found it detracts both from the reading experience and immersion into the music.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Depends what the reading is.  Depends what the music is.
