Waldstein Coda Tempo
on: November 30, 2014, 07:32:55 PM
Hey guys, I had a quick question regarding what you all do in the coda of the Rondo.
Most professionals i've heard hover around 150 b.p.m (cut time) but my main concern is the trill part in sextuplets.. everyone i've heard slows down there to around 132 then speeds back up at the big fortissimo in measure 515
what do you guys do? the ritard really helps in terms of nailing the trill and everyone seems to do it in the measure of bare trill leading up to the section (measure 484)
thanks

Instead of playing the trill easier, I would suspect that they intend to create a different mood, particularly for bars 521 - 535 where the key changed.
