Brahms ballades difficulty
on: December 01, 2014, 12:32:34 AM
Hi,
I recently came across Brahms' op. 10 ballades, and I think they're absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to work on one of them, but I don't know if they would be too advanced for me. I have no idea what "grade" I am since I don't do ABRSM or anything like that, but the pieces I'm working on right now are: Bach Prelude and Fugue in E major no. 9, Beethoven sonata op. 10 no. 1, Chopin nocturne op. 9 no. 1, and Debussy's 2nd prelude (voiles). Are they within my level? Which one would be best to start with?
Thanks in advance!

You should be fine. Start with No 1 and see how you go.
