La Ci Darem La Mano - Chopin
on: December 08, 2014, 07:03:56 AM
Ok, I've known this piece for awhile and I'd like to know something about the middle section. It's variation 5, marked adagio.  I always thought that this part was some sort of intermission from the main theme, just for the sake of it because it bares little to no relation from the main theme. So I always thought that it was just a "breather" from the variations and the the variations carried on starting from the polonaise section. But since I looked at the score, i saw that it was marked as a variation

So please tell me, and show me how this is a variation. I can't seem to find any resemblances to the main theme. The best answer would be for me to play but I can't, it's way too hard for me! So any knowledgeable musician here has the patience and kindness to show me what the hell is going on here? (except j-menz, cause i know hes a kindhearted man who helps everybody!)

Well, to avoid your imposed exception, I'll refrain from demonstrating how.  I'll just assure you it  is.

Frankly, it's the only one of them in which Freddy is even remotely interesting, so go look - you'll learn more from finding it than you could possibly learn from it being shown to you.

damn, alright.

It's such a brain-fart. Oh and do you really think it's the only interesting one? The polonaise-like variation is pretty cool...
