metallica is not a crappy rock band.  okay, their music now is kinda crappy but during the height of their career they were great.  kill em all, ride the lightning, puppets, justice, and the black album are all amazing albums.

12 year old boys wouldn't appreciate this...more like men and women over 30 years old would appreciate it.

crappy rock band?  you serious? .. . . despite their 9 Grammy awards?

appreciation from 12 year old boys?  never had the impression that the Metallica crowd was similar to the Beiber crowd.  I've always felt that most of their fans even during their peak were young adults and not teens.

Viktoriya Yermolyeva was trained in the classics but is now fully into rock; unlike Maksim Mrvica who has gone back to classical piano.

so that means

Led Zeppelin (7+ nominations/wins)
Pink Floyd (5 nominations/wins)
Rolling Stones (10+ nominations/wins)
U2 (25 wins)
Beatles (25+ nominations/wins)

are all crappy bands?

vladimir horowitz also has 25 grammy wins.  Eric Clapton and Yoyo-ma both have 17 grammy wins.  they must be really crappy.

britney spears won a grammy for best dance recording.

Lang Lang played with them at the grammies. If they're not too crappy for Lang Lang, they're not too crappy for you.

Yeah..that says it all. Homework for all of you Meatallica - Pirates of the caribbean-whatever disney-pop-rock stars. Read  review of Lang Lang, but even better, develope musically, learn how to read music and listens to lots of different pianists, Go deep, really deep into music. That will make you refrain most of main stream rockn roll disney muzac.

Merry christmas and a happy new year all of you!!

A lot of Heavy Metal artists were influenced by Classical music. Metallica is a very talented band. I love Heavy Metal. I think you have to be into all genres of music to be a great musician. If Beethoven or Bach were around today they would be plugged in and jamming incredible heavy licks.

A perfect example of a great musician who was classically influenced would have to be Yngwie Malmsteen. So don't be a snob open your ears and enjoy the wonderful music that is available at our fingertips. Don't judge other styles of music because you don't have an open mind.
