Advice on Aural Test
on: December 10, 2014, 02:28:33 AM
Hello! I have just finished Grade 6 ABRSM exam and wish to go straight to Grade 8. But I find the aural part is very difficult! Could you suggest some helpful aural training books/apps please?

Thank you!

I have been preparing for my Grade 8 aural tests for the last few months. I have actually been using an app called AURALBOOK that is really helpful. It gives you live feedback like a music teacher was with you and is really easy to use. It helped me pass my Grade 7 ABRSM!

Well... Good luck with that. I tried that app, and although the app itself has a couple of good ideas, the voice on it is annoying as all buggery. I had it for 10 minutes and deleted it, knowing that I would rather enjoy the rest of my life without ever having to hear that voice - EVER AGAIN!!!

Get a piano teacher to help you... that's the best advice. Don't rely on Apps, as they won't help you actually identify ways to help you work out the correct answers.
