Clementi Sonatina op 36 no 3 mov 1
on: December 10, 2014, 02:38:49 AM
Hello,

I played Clementi´s Sonatina op 36 no 3 1st mov.

I know that it is not perfect, but I want to have feedback, specially to know if the piece sounds even despite the mistakes and being slow.

Thank you.

Your timing is even enough, but you're not marking the rhythm - mind what you accent. You tend to accent, for example, the bottom notes in the alberti type figures whether or not they are on or off the main beat.

Also, even at this pace you should pay attention to the dynamics more. There are accented notes, phrase markings. staccato and marked dynamics from p to ff that you don't do much with. At this pace it doesn't show up as much, but as you get faster it really will, so start now.

Thanks, I was more worried about the timing because I didn't use metronome.

That means that I have rhythm, but I still need to mark it, right?

It means you can count evenly. Unless you mark it, you don't have rhythm.

Sounds like it off to a good direction.  I would suggest making the staccato much more crisp.  It will bring a more upbeat light-hearted spirit to the piece!
