Finger staccato for chords?
on: December 14, 2014, 09:46:44 PM
Hi all,
I tried this for the first time today. "Flicking" 3 fingers at the same time. It was strange. A very light, controlled but different kind of touch that I have never used on chords before was the result.
It has speed limitations for fast repeated chords since the fingers need time to reset.
Wrist staccato and even forearm staccato with arm vibrato are faster but have more weight behind them and produce a different kind of sound. At least it seems that way to me.
Is finger staccato used EXCLUSIVELY for the use of scalar passages only?
Also, I have had some success with finger staccato on fast staccato arpeggios. Is this yet another acceptable use?
I just don' t know, Joe.
