A Jazz Piano Christmas 2025 – But not at the Kennedy Center

For more than three decades, “A Jazz Piano Christmas” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. has been a quiet highlight of the holiday season for jazz and piano lovers. No fixed formulas, no “seasonal jazz” clichés — just strong pianistic voices working with familiar material. This year, the live concert is on pause. Recommendations for digital pianos
on: December 15, 2014, 06:17:08 PM
Hallo,

I need to buy a new digital piano, my old one was a Kawai ES3 (weight: 19 kilograms - 41 pounds) and now I would like to have something better in sound quality and something lighter.
In general here are some features I need:
  • Full Graded Hammer Keyboard
  • Different high quality piano sounds
  • USB midi and LINE OUT jack connectors to connect the piano to amplifiers
  • Weight < 15 kilograms (33 pounds)
  • Maybe also the possibility to mix sounds (e.g. piano and strings)
  • Price < $745

I went to a store and they suggested the following models:
  • Casio Privia PX-A100 (anniversary edition) - price: $721
  • Kurzweil MPS10F  - price: $882
  • Orla Stage Talent  - price: $596

I like Casio PX-A100 but I'm not sure those models are the best I could find below that price (I excluded the Kurzweil because I don't like the sound and the weight is 18 kilograms (39 pounds).

So do you have any advice about a model to buy?
I'm used to play at home and especially to make concerts, besides I have been playing piano for 11 years and I since I started to play graded hammer keyboards I have always played Kawai ES3 so I'm not an expert about models and other features etc...

Thanks
