Bach partita no2 for piano
on: December 24, 2014, 12:36:05 PM
Hi! I have recently heard this piece and iŽd love to play it. Everyone says partitas are quite difficult to play and i dont know wether i will be capable of learning it or not. This year i have been playing (i mean i am able to play them in a recital)
-nocturne op9 no1 from chopin
-revolutionary etude
-first movement from pathetique sonata (starting 2nd now)
-petite suite for 4 hands by debussy

thanks for your attention!

if you can play a 4 hands piece by yourself, the partita should be no challenge.

 ;)

Have you done any of the other dance suites, like the French or English suites?

Have you tried sight reading through Partita 2? It will give you a better indication of its difficulty.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

One or two movements is perhaps of grade 5 or grade 6 level technically speaking, but in order to play the entire partita in an acceptable recital manner is fairly advanced indeed.

You can also learn from a masterclass dvd on this partita with Andras Schiff as coach, if you can borrow from your public / school library nearby.
