Wobbly stand on Casio Digital Pianos
on: December 28, 2014, 08:37:52 AM
I'm a new to piano, and I finally decided to get a digital piano for myself.
I have been trying out a couple of Digital Pianos, and I do like the Casio pianos. However, I noticed, in the showroom, the Privia series was extremely wobbly, it doesn't seem sturdy. I thought that was turn off.
I wanted to try the AP250/AP260, to test if it is just as wobbly, but it wasn't available, I called several surrounding stores, but they too do not have the AP250/AP260 for display.
I was wondering if any of you guys have the AP250/AP260 mind sharing if it does have a wobbly stand?

I don't know a whole lot about Casio's but the PX series to my knowledge is sold separately from the stand. The store could have had them on any flimsy stand. You are free to purchase the piano and then a good solid stand for it separately.. Often the prices you see in the store for portable or stage pianos does not include the stand, FWIW. Or they may run a combo deal to which I imagine for the difference in cost you get into a better stand for it. Those combo deals don't usually supply the top most components so as to make it look appealing in price point. In the end you get what you pay for.
On another note, for my Kawai MP6 I built a furniture style stand for it from Birch Ply. It's rock solid. It cost me about $60 US to build and stain and with the remains I built a pulpit for our bible studies. So got two uses out of the 60 bucks worth of materials ( some basic wood working skills required)..

Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

My apologies, I have should have been more specific. I tried the PX-760/PX-860, it comes with its own integrated stand with the pedals.
