Fast piano playing thread
on: December 28, 2014, 02:17:36 PM
Recently I've had a bit of a fixation on who could play the fastest...and so I had the idea of making this thread so we could all enjoy hearing the ear-tickling performances or recordings done by virtuosi throughout the century.
Just keep posting really, really fast piano videos and/or recordings! (Rule: Preferably at least 180 bpm. I found
this
tool to be coming in handy.
All right...this one may be overrated or old or whatnot...but it still remains the single most mindfuckingly insane piano recording I have heard thus far...at least in my view. I don't think I have heard anything more technically impressive since.
And here's a particularly fast Horowitz performance of Moskowski's F Major etude.
And now I ask you this - is there anyone who did a faster version of the Cziffra Bumblebee or the Horowitz interpretation of the Moskowski study? Please do post it, if it exists.

Whats the point?
Its like.. "Who can play the loudest note" "What is the heaviest grand piano ever" " What is the most difficult and fastest and loudest music played on the heaviest piano ever made by the fastest pianomaker"

I agree with stevensk. I'm not impressed with fast playing. I'm impressed with beautiful music. Beautiful music isn't necesserily fast.
