Beatles - Sheet music
on: January 13, 2015, 09:56:02 PM
Hello to all. Do you happen to know if there exist any sheet music for advanced arrangements of songs by Beatles? Something like the recording of Giovanni Marradi. Or do the bar pianists make their own and keep it only for themselves? :-) thanks

The Michael Jackson estate has pretty good lawyers. Anybody that published an accurate transcription of anything he bought would be sued pretty quickly. MJ bought the Beatles library years ago. The only Beatles piano Sheet Music I've ever seen have been those often inaccurate 50 by Lennon & McCartney and 51 by same. These were published by Warner. To be stocked in stores to sell to the masses, the arrangements have to be easy, too. Accuracy was never an attribute of the piano pop sheet music industry.
Part of playing pop music involves learning to memorize things on one hearing and play by ear. That is a skill mostly ignored by music schools, although I hear Berkeley and Belmont have pop departments.
My brain records pop songs pretty well, but it only plays back when I am asleep. Pushing the internal "Play" button while awake usually only gets me two measures. A reel to reel tape recorder with full and half speeds has been involved in most of my piano arrangements of pop tunes- although these appliances, due to the rubber parts, don't work anymore.

What in the world are you talking about? There's Beatles sheet music all over the place, including the full-score transcription of every Beatles song ever, in one book:
https://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Complete-Scores/dp/0793518326/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1421906574&sr=1-3&keywords=beatles+sheet+music
But it doesn't sound like you want transcriptions; it sounds like you want new arrangements of their songs. In that case, try this:
https://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Piano-Solos/dp/0793548179/ref=sr_1_12?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1421906574&sr=1-12&keywords=beatles+sheet+music
I can't vouch for the quality of it since I don't own it, but it seems to be what you're asking about. But there are many, many more Beatles sheet music books if you'd like to do a search on Amazon.
