superbowl: why the *bleep* did seattle pass it?

two, maybe three chances to go 1 yard with beastmode lynch on your team.  maybe they just got too smart for their own good but seriously, that has got to be one of the dumbest plays in the history of superbowls.  meh, i'm from boston so i'm stoked.  when seattle caught that freak catch i walked outside for a smoke and resigned myself to the loss. can't believe how it ended. go pats!

I am not trying to defend Seattle ( pun intended ) but I can understand why the pass play - time.
If they went beast mode, and beast does not make it in, they could have used too much time off the clock.  It is a risk either way, but I am not mad, I won a $20.00 bet. It was a great game. Usually superbowl means superblow-out. Only a few have come down to the last minute like this one.
