Nice job, JEd!  For practice, can you see how quietly you can play staccato?  Then start the piece loud and reduce the volume to soft on the repeat?  You can start training your ears and your fingers to begin varying the dynamics.

Not to worry, JED.  Playing softly takes practice-- we have all had to do it and it takes time.  For Fur Elise, the melody is in the right hand and should be heard above the left  Try working on getting the left hand softer here as well.  It will take work to train your hands to have one louder than the other.  No one does it naturally but it is worth the work it takes.   :)
