Undergrad audition program
on: February 22, 2015, 07:06:32 AM
Hi everyone. Around now is the time when I'm starting to think about conservatory/college, what schools I want to go to, and what I'm playing for auditions. I am going to seek lessons with different teachers to find more schools that I want to apply for, but some that I'm planning on auditioning for are Curtis (why not, what do I have to lose), Juilliard (what do I have to lose), Eastman, Peabody, Oberlin, NEC, Northwestern....
What do you guys think about my audition program? I realize in the end it's how you play it, but I think the selection of pieces is also very important for the auditions. What do you think of the pieces?
Bach prelude and fugue (maybe D major or B flat minor book 2)
Beethoven op 31 no 1 complete
Chopin fantasy
Chopin etude (not sure yet which one)
Other etude (perhaps Debussy Octaves etude, not sure)
Prokofiev sonata 2 complete
For Curtis: slow chopin piece is nocturne op 15 no 2, fast chopin is the etude
