The thing with mozart music
on: March 11, 2015, 06:23:19 PM
I recently developed a taste for Mozart's music, but there is one thing that bugs me.

If you listen to Mozart, I find it is very easy to picture that he has composed all of his music in his underwear while dancing around in his apartment, playing with his erect nipples. Do you ever get that image? Please try to listen to some of his happier pieces, anything in C, D, G or A will do, and picture that in your mind.

Thank you.

But what about pieces in F?   :o

Hi gr8,

is that really what you associate with some of Mozart's pieces? ...Or wasn't it rather a polarizing idea for a thread-question?  8) I think the latter can make it, though!

Back to earnest: hmm, indeed i don't associate such things you mentioned with some works of Mozart, but what I imagine, is, Mozart, sitting in his apartment, in Salzburg or Vienna, window is open, he is sitting at his desk, listening to the noises from the street through the open window - and writing down notes...perhaps parts of songs he heard from outside, smiling... . He's wearing this red, velvet jacket from the pictures painted of him and known to us centuries later, and he looks - in my imagination - kind of happy, and contented. But there's a kind of sad undertone, too, which is difficult to describe for me, when I see Mozart in my imagination.

So, I'll stop picturing now,

with many greetings, 8_oct!

My images may be a bit different, but yes, I could imagine that too. I am yet to develope any taste for "nipple dance" music though...

-It is not YOU that have a strong desire to dance around in your apartment, playing with your ( or his) erect nipples?  :P

If you want a more vivid, realistic image of Mozart composing, read his letters. They are fascinating and often great fun.

Funny...when I listen to Schoenberg I don't want to strangle anyone, I just go to a happy place   :)

If something brings out my sadistic tendencies, it's Mozart...
