on: April 17, 2015, 12:24:15 PM
hey Guys, I am playing Bach BWV 926 in a recital next month

I am not yet fully content with the roll... My little niece recorded this while i was playing

Does anybody have any advice on how to play it?

BWV numbers are meaningless to most people so don't use it.  You'll probably get more replies if you used common titles instead.

What roll?  You mean run?

Tempo is way too slow and you aren't creating music.  You aren't expressing anything.

Indeed, I am working on the tempo, but I am adjusting the whole to the maximum tempo of the run... I can get it a little bit faster now

I think I understand what you mean by not giving expression to the piece... I must say this is one of the harder things about playing for me right now (only one year into it)

Probably gonna laugh at me when I say this, but when I am playing this it always reminds me of a troubled/melancholic woman...

I will post a full version soon

If you are playing a piece by individual notes, then that's like reading a sentence by reading aloud letters.  You should be learning to play based on words and ideas.  Notes are meaningless by themselves.

In this piece, the expression of the harmonies are the equivalent of words, and phrases equivalent to sentences.
