Very enjoyable. Very professional sound, and you obviously have a great grasp of the piece. I think the mistakes towards the end didn't distract all that much from the overall performance because of how you handled them. I am working on this, and this recording was an inspiration for me.

Just curious, how long did this take you?

Thanks for your opinion. :) Well I worked on it for some 3-4 months before playing it for the first time in public. Then I left it, worked on the other half of the recital and again practised it for about a month before this event. But this is a kind of piece that requires even more time to mature. I will probably perform it again towards the end of summer and again it is gonna be different (and better) I hope :)

And of course you have to just go with it if there are some unexpected mistakes. In a piece of such dimensions something always happens :) Even to the pros.

Really very good. I don't consider the slips near the end to be important, especially considering how badly that section can go wrong under the pressure of public performance. Good, full sound, and equally good contrasting control of the quiet passages. A gripping performance, well done.

You must be professional am I right because that was one of the best I have heard right up there with Krystian Zimmerman and Andre laplante.

stunning!! fantastic...   :o ;D  I enjoyed that very much, thank you.  Don't know that I have ever heard it done better...

I am really struck by the expressiveness in your face...those eyebrows... that's cool.  ;) You have a unique and memorable look to go with that awesome sound.

wow--- Bratislava?  you must have a good music program there...    so what will you do now that you have your master's degree?

Wonderful, lyric performance of a Himalayan work. Bravo!

I was especially impressed by the superb contrast between the pp lyric sections and the ff bravura sections. The second theme, both times arounds, was incredibly moving.

I certainly wouldn't beat yourself up over the finale stretto--perhaps, with the adrenalin and all of a live performance, for a masters recital no less, you took the prestissimo triplets a little too fast...happens to the best. To those not familiar with each note, i.e, those who never played the work, I doubt they knew.

To your credit, the hiccup did not affect your overall performance. You kept to the greater idea of the work. Truly masterful!

How come the clip doesn't include applause? I would think the house would come down after such a rendition.

Thanks for posting. One of my favorite works.

Hi, well It took 3-4 months to a decent performance, then I left it and worked on the othr half of the recital. And took it up again about a month before this performance. I usually practice from 4-6 hours a day, but I also play chamber music - piano duet. :)

Hi, thank you very much. The contrasts were indeed one of my main focus in this work. It is especially difficult to maintain the flow of the work and its grand form and at the same time bring out the contrast of different passages and motivic variations.
I have the audio of the applause, but my cameraman was probably lazy and cut it too short. :)

Yes I have already heard about the eyebrow thing :D But it is something beyond my control.
And Bratislava, yes, I am very lucky to have a wonderful professor. She was a pupil of Vera Gornostaeva in Moscow for couple of years, so it really shows. The handbrake in our system is the elementary musical education, that is why we can rarely achieve the amount of repertoire and cope with the pressure of the biggest competitions and so. I also feel a deficit from my early years. I practically went from a chopin nocturne to liszt sonata in five years during university. But I continue for another three years in doctorate level, so I gained some time there :)
