Favorite Beethoven Sonata
on: June 01, 2015, 04:02:44 AM
I want your guys' opinion. My favs are the Op 2 No.1, Patheique, Op 14 No.1, Funeral March, Op.27 No.1, Moonlight Sonata, Waldstein, Hammerklavier, and the Op.122 (or the last sonata Beethoven composed) IMO Hammerklavier and Op.122 are my true fav sonatas
I made an account and hadn't used it in a year. Welcome back, kevon.

Op.122 (or the last sonata Beethoven composed)

The last Sonata Beethoven composed is his Op 111. Op 122 is his Bundeslied, which has no piano part whatsoever.

I knew that.

Chopinlover01, I've never listened to the Tempest, but I'm gonna give a try.

I like the first movement of Beethoven's Op.111. I don't know why Beethoven's regarded as a Classical pianist! His sonatas are far from the Classical era. I know composers like Hadyn and Mozart influenced him, but mostly, he was the introducer of the Romantic era.

Chopin's Sonata 2 was influenced by Beethoven Op.111. They have a lot of similarties.

Easiest decision. Beethoven Sonata No.18 Op.31 No.3 in E-flat major. Nicknamed "The Hunt."

The first mov of the Patheique is my fav. I like the Rondo, too.
