https://www.tubechop.com/watch/6095946This bit in the last movement of Gustave Samazeuilh's Le chant de la mer is so familiar, but I can't point out what other piano, symphonic, or popular work I am being reminded of—something with a very similar melody and harmonic progression, as well as similar rhythms in the melody and accompaniment. I wouldn't be surprised if it's due to having heard a similarly cathartic passage in a Rachmaninoff piece, or some film score or musical. I am more familiar with Debussy, Liszt, and Chopin but stylistically they didn't write like this as much, as I currently understand it. Any suggestions? What music have you ever had "tip of the tongue syndrome" with?
Hi Calf,Is there another website where this music can be heard? The previous time I tried with this computer to play a video linked through here to an unfamiliar website, the browser locked and I ended up having to reboot the system.Mvh,Michael
