Sibelius piano trio in D major "Korpo" JS 209
on: June 02, 2015, 06:51:31 PM
Hello folks,
I'm new here so tell me if I do anything incorrect.
Next year I'm going to play in a piano trio because I'm in the last year of my music school (Belgium). I'm 17 now. I want to play the Korpo Piano trio from Sibelius but I can't find any sheet music, even not for free! I definitely want those papers because it's a beautiful piece of music!
I would be very pleased if anyone can help me!

Hi Cornillem,

Why don't you check it out from a library?

Mvh,
Michael

This score will be difficult to find. Could not find any reference from Finnish library databases. I wonder if it was even published?

The complete works of Sibelius are currently being (long project) published by the Sibelius Society of Finland in collaboration with the National Library of Finland and Breitkopf & Hartel.

It would seem that this will be part of Volume 1 of Series IV and is currently "in preparation".

You can keep an eye on it's progress , though I wouldn't hold your breath.

This was a student work, and doesn't appear to have been published, though given there are performance of it at least the manuscript must be obtainable somewhere. Perhaps you coiuld contact the Sibelius Society direct to see if they can assist :  [url=https://www2.siba.fi/sibelius-seura/eng/works.html]https://www2.siba.fi/sibelius-seura/eng/works.html
