I voted for H.R. No. 2.

Things might have been different if a different Balakirev work had been put in place of Islamey.  There is a lot of Balakirev piano music that is little known and underperformed:

Balakirev's Islamey is much more interesting than any of the Hungarian rhapsody and its a lot easier (or much harder depending on the tempo you use) you should learn Islamey.
The piano a string instrument controlled by means of percussion.
