Have any of you done this?

I'm very excited about my latest project - the cycle of Scriabin's Op. 11 preludes.  Like Chopin Op. 28, there are 24, one in each key.   To my knowledge, it is the only cycle of its kind that Scriabin wrote.

First off, I can't decide whether to play all 24 in recital, or if I want to play a dozen, and play the Chopin prelude of the key immediately after, so I would alternate Scriabin/Chopin/Scriabin/Chopin, etc...  I realize it's kind of avant-garde, but hey, it's my teacher's idea.

If you have performed the Op. 11 cycle, give me advice - I'll take anything, really.  Also let me know how you think I should organize the program.

Hi Tony

I have never played the whole cycle although I have played groups of them. There are so many paralells with the Chopin Preludes it has to be done dosen't it. I had considered learning both cycles and doing them both by means of a big arc. This requires considerable playing and listening stamina though. I like the idea if playing a few of Chopin and then a paralell group of Chopin. That sounds like it would be a bit more audience friendly. My only real advice would be learn the lot and record them as paralell works (may take longer but you are certain of one purchase here - I think they are great pieces!)
