I'm just curious. What are your fav keys? Mine are c minor, bb minor, eb minor, c# minor, g# minor, E major, Ab Major, Dd Major.
I made an account and hadn't used it in a year. Welcome back, kevon.

Anyway, I like bb minor (it's easy to make certain jumps... see prelude 16 by Chopin ;) ) Ab major (Chopin wrote the most compositions in this key, so...) and Db major (I think it fits the hand well).

Maybe a little off topic but a while ago i came across this page: https://www.biteyourownelbow.com/keychar.htm

if I play the F major scale and then the E major scale they sound the same, just transposed half a semitone down...

How come each major scale has its own characteristics? Is it perhaps we are used to all the music written in each major scale and associate it with a certain feeling/emotion?

I would also like to let you guys know that I am a beginner and am only asking this out of curiosity ;)

E mixolydian

Are you referring to Harikambhojl in Carnatic music?

with Equal Temperament, there is no pitch difference among the scales… All majors are  the same.  All minors, same.… All modes including mixolydian (a flowery way of saying a major scale with a flatted 7th  :-X …   ;D) - the same.  The only difference is the feel of the hand, --- And our own emotional past with that key.  The rest, i believe, though i know some would disagree, is conjecture.

Now if we were talking about 'Well Tempered' -- That would be another matter..

Okay, and why exactly is there a thread on which key one likes the most. Isn't that Always, completely in relation to the piece. Just my opinion.

no B# Major is clearly the best! You're an inexperienced pianist, thinking that C Major is the best.
