ha ha feel similarly. i do feel the etudes benefit those who study/learn them, but there is relatively little to be gained [or said that has not yet been said] in performance. even in an encore scenario, there are umpteenth pieces that get little attention that have the same pathos/flair as this.*exception could be in a competition or academic scenario where the piece is assigned and required (how i was forced to learn it, and i enjoyed the technical boost it gave me, but i hated playing it).
exactly. Instead of playing this early work by scriabin. Why not look at the etudes of Felix Blumenfeld, like op.25 no.1 and op.29 no.1, which are equally as luscious and moody.
