Prokofiev Transcriptions
on: July 13, 2015, 02:34:36 PM
I recently stumbled across this in a collection I have:

It's really rather good. (It's also on IMSLP if your country's copyright laws allow).

My question, though, is did he do any more? I know he transcribed his own work a lot - I mean transcriptions of other people's work.

Hi. I've not come across any, but I much enjoyed the recording… On a tangential note, (being that  of orch. trans.)  - thought I would mention a few transcriptions of Bach that I think are not so well known, which I find quite interesting… Begging your pardon, if this is too far afield for this thread.   Orchestrated by Webern, Stravinsky, and Schoenberg:

Bach is a musical skeleton key. ok to fit it anywhere.

@Visitor… Well of course it is ok.  Hard to go wrong with perfect architecture to begin with..  So, what is offered here is a composer's orchestral 'take' on it… Sorry it fell flat on you.. I am assuming you have already heard them then..
