The left hand, are they 32nd notes? Is that too fast? What is the rhythm of the tremolo?

If you listen, the speed of the tremolo varies quite a bit over time, from fairly strict 32nds to all over the place. It varies for effect, rather than in pursuit of some strict reading of a score. Quite a lot of tremolos should be played like that.
