Need suggestions - adult student
on: January 28, 2002, 02:26:33 AM
OK guys. I am looking for suggestions here. I am looking at grand pianos - I have played all my life, but haven't played much for twenty years - I am just getting back into it. So...... in looking around, my husband, who doesn't play (one of those deals where he took lessons as a kid from the "old lady" up the street - he hated it -surprised?) and quit. Well, he has a sudden interest, and while I was at work the other day, looked up how to find middle C on the web, and learned to play the Bear Went Over the Mountain from an old level 3 book. I am amazed - but I know he'll get sick of playing kiddie music pretty quickly - any "easy" duets or easy classical pieces out there you can think of? Maybe boogie woogie? Anything an adult can tolerate for more than 10 minutes! I am also NOT a piano teacher - no clue where to steer him first - anybody out there used to adult beginning students?

Hi! You can maybe try "Heart and Soul". Or, go to the nearest music store that sells piano education books and ask the dealer to help you out. They have plenty of books for adult beginners. Good luck!!!!!
