Should I purchase Yamaha C3X with or without Diskclavier Pro
on: August 03, 2015, 08:07:16 PM
After 7 years of lessons and thousands of hours of practice on my Yamaha Digital Clavinova, my wife authorized me to purchase a grand piano.
The Yamaha C3X lists for @ $58,500. The salesman just offered me a choice. A new C3X for $32,000 or a new C3X with a E3 Diskklavier Pro for $40,000.
What should I buy?
A grand piano is a dream and will last me the rest of my life.
I'm inclined to go with the barebones, nothing fancy, standard C3X.
When I see a piano with a speaker system and wireless, digital technology strapped on, playing the piano, I wonder if it's just something else to go wrong or become obsolete or detract from what the piano is all about.
But the salesman is really pushing it
Does anyone regret getting the DiskKlavier Pro on his or her beautiful new piano?
The sound technology and wireless capability seem pretty intriguing.

I know nothing, but...
Go with your gut, he's got an agenda so ignore the salesman.
I think a pure piano tone is good enough on its own. Think, you could get a lot of great recording equipment and sheet music with the leftovers, maybe even show something to the rest of us.
