You have to hear this
on: August 08, 2015, 07:17:51 AM

This 15 year old plays Rach's third incredibly well and his first public performance was at age 12 and his first private performance was at age 10. :o can you believe it.
The piano a string instrument controlled by means of percussion.

Please post what your video is actually about in the title, I've tried attention grabbing titles and they don't work...

I'm not particularly interested in child prodigies either, I already know there are technically and even musically very capable children but I don't find it wows me really, I'll watch Penn and Teller's Fool us if I want simple "wow".

Now this kid may be very good but did he develop into much? I've never heard of him... These extreme prodigies seem to vanish mostly and only more moderate ones seem to flourish... Anyway, I'm more interested in the struggle of older pianists pushing you-know-what uphill, trying to make a dent. All eyes are automatically on prodigies and this one isn't even current! I want to look at and help real colleague musicians when I come to the Audition room! I want to give a comment (sometimes not on this site but still) to that guy that has 0 replies!

Even having said all this, blackonwhite, if YOU have posted anything interesting I want to hear THAT.

I remember this sgouros kid.  He was quite the sensation for a few years.  I wonder what happened.  They do "wow" you, but more from the circus-like aspect of it, i guess.  And now we have the chinese connection.  Someone said that there's a yuja wang every every 10,000 chinese.  Which means....how many?!  Yes, the performance level, today, is higher then ever.  But most of it IS boring.

It worries me how much piano playing has become a superiority thing and not a creative thing. The whole competition culture doesn't help at all. Prodigies are all well and good but I plan to teach my students MUSIC not make them as fast and as flashy as possible.

But you didn't answer my question birba, or don't you want to? That's okay, I'm just curious :)

I actually just noticed an Audition room post, not by birba but for him that implied just how good birba is, which makes me more curious.

I want to know about some of the more established members simply because they've been talking to me more, generally anyway. I'm happy to look at newer ones, even those who just post in audition room and don't really go beyond that... sigh...

I take it you are one of those who exist as "various entities"? Why?

Sort the audition by 'started by' go to page 13, and you find three of Birba's excellent recordings .... really, really more than excellent.  Mesmerizing, perhaps?  Ah, Birba, if I could eventually play as well

Thanks dogperson! I am listening to his ginastera and it is *** amazing!!!!

I'll have to reply to it once I am done, put him back on top of the pile, so to speak :) I think he's modest, which is why it took you to steer me in the right direction...

Oh birba! I was going to listen to that! Maybe you're a little too much of a perfectionist but don't ever change ;)
