How does the Yamaha YDP 161 compare to grand pianos?
on: August 13, 2015, 10:52:01 PM
I have the ydp 161, and am wondering how the touch compares to a Yamaha grand piano (CX series?..)..  I know this isn't a very clear question as different grand pianos have different feels to them.. I plan on getting a grand piano some time next year and want to know if it will feel totally different to me.

A digital will never have the action of a grand, period. It may have the same weight (typically 55 grams), but the action on a grand is so pristine and refined it's never close to a digital piano.

There are some digital pianos that have a grand action. Currently, one or two of the Yamaha Avant Grands.

But you have to spend over $8000 to get one.

But to the OP's question about the YDP161 ... not even close.
