i suppose there had to come a moment when the world of classic music steped in the 21st century - now it's all about the image...  :'(

Absolutely, look at these CD covers :

https://cmleguay.artistes.universalmusic.fr/images/discographie/albums/large/3.jpg

https://www.deutschegrammophon.com/imgs/s300x300/4775325.jpg

There was a time when they would rather put an image of the composer  ;D.

Anyways, if babes sell classical CD's it's good for the music, no ?

next step: place a covergirl on stage to stay in front of the piano, have the actual pianist playing from behind a thick curtain (in case the pianist is not enough good looking)

Nah, Anda, it's always been that way. Haven't you read the accounts of the ladies swooning over Lizst when he'd perform?

*Laughter* This is HILARIOUS! My brother is about to go into cardiac arrest- you have successfully convinced him that there ARE good-looking piano players out there!

Speaking of great CDs, can we add the Ahn Trio - or at least their pianist.  They are hot - visually as well as musically.

I'll second that!  Last year the Ahn Trio and the Parsons Dance Company shared the stage at the Lied Center and I had the privilege of turning pages for Lucia Ahn during the performance.  They are very good -- and no, not too hard on the eyes either.

Elena belongs to the top alright!

But I don't call the top the "babe department".  It's more like the "magical aura department".

This top is (in random order, and of course IMHO) :
Elena and her quatre-mains partner Laura Sánchez
Claire Marie Le Guay
Hélène Grimaud
Valentina Igoshina

They can all enchant you by just looking at you...

They are the truly dangerous ones ;)
It works better if you plug it in...

Okay, I'll start off saying this is not original - I got the idea from another unamed forum.    But, on that forum, the poster had all 12 months already slated.  I'd like to know what others think.  So, I'll start with my personal favorite  and give her January - Olga Kern.  I saw her perform last spring and was totally awestruck.   So, who would you choose to fill the spreads for the other 11 months?

You can't go past a true classic beauty.

Does anyone else here think the opening of Liszt's 'Orage' (AdP - Suisse No.5) sounds like the Gymnopedie from Hell?

Don't know about her ass, which she was sitting on during most of the concert I saw, but I do know, she played impeccably and was cute to boot.

Man, this thread is awesome.  I'm just drooling over all the pictures, I'll admit, but that Martha Argerich photo, taken in her youth, is quite splendid.  I didn't think there were that many good-looking pianists out there.  And it might be considered selling out BUT WHO CARES I'D BUY THE CALENDAR IMMEDIATELY.
Not to mention a lot of girls have talked about a hunks calendar.  But in our (admittedly) sexist society that probably wouldn't sell as well as, say, a babes of piano calendar.  I'm actually a little surprised that no one has released such a calendar yet.
Finally, a lot of people have talked about how interest in classical music is declining, especially amongst the young.  I think a babes of piano calendar would spike that interest tenfold.

Sarah MacLachlan!  Okay - not exactly the pianist's pianist, but what a talent!  Saw her last weekend in Portland, Maine and was so awestruck.  I've always loved her voice and songs, but to see her in person with her charisma and beauty . . . .. !

Natasha Paremski is very beautiful but i think she lacks a certain  "mystique factor"  (probably b/c she is so young).   But Valentina Lisitsa and Hélène Grimaud OMG!  I coudn't imagine meeting someone so gifted both musically and apperance-wise.   Also Elena Hammel could seriously kill someone with those eyes but I like this picture of her better than the one that was previosly posted.

She might not be a pianist but Lara St. John is a very attractive musician as well:

She also happens to have a pretty interesting website (https://www.larastjohn.com) with some funny stories and blog style entries about her thoughts on the future of classical music  and the use of one's picture in the marketing of classical music cds.

Pianist or Penthouse pet?  They had a penthouse pet on Howard Stern last night.  She was a German, and she was fine.  She also happened to play the piano on the show (fur elise) while howard spanked her.

Edit:  So I guess I'll try to find a picture of her, since she was a pianist ( I think her name was "crystal kline")

Myleene Klass, not really a classical pianist (more pop version of classical) but I wouldn't mind seeing her in the calendar.  ;D
