Me Playing Brahms Violin Sonata No.1
on: December 20, 2004, 06:01:47 PM
If you're interested in hearing me (or a beautiful Brahms Violin Sonata), it's been posted on my webpage for all:

There of course are several mistakes, but consider that this was learned in about four weeks for a chamber music assignment and I think it turned out quite nicely.  Your feedback is welcome.

not bad at all! and i know how difficult the exposition is... (admit it, you played the first theme by memory :) )

but if you'll allow me on piece of advice: change the violinist! s/he plays so fragmented everything, it's hard for the work to flow with all these stops... kind of like a car that won't start...

imo (and please don't get offended)

No offense taken.  We were paired together for chamber music assignments, which are required every semester.  That performance marked the end of the semester, so I'm not playing it anymore though I plan on keeping it in my repertory in case I cross paths with another violinist.  Since it was my first taste of chamber music, I really didn't know what to think of him, but I'm glad I finally got some unbiased feedback.  Thanks!
