Hey mjames, did Liadov write anything very difficult?

I want to play something by him but my teacher won't let me unless I find something very challenging.
You might have seen one of my videos without knowing it was that nut from the forum

He did write a bunch of advanced level works but nothing too difficult as in say..Chopin's op. 25 no.11. Though not technical beasts, quite a few of them are very musically challenging. Anyways I'm just going to post a few videos and see if you like any of them..

I wouldn't work on an individual piece by Liadov..I'd probably work on an opus set or make a set of my own. But yeah Liadov's works aren't really the virtuoso type of music. They're very restrained imo. :)

As another Liadov lover I feel entitled to reply even if the question wasn't addressed to me :)

Yes he did write some very difficult things - a couple of etudes and some variations of Op.52 are
damned hard. But as mjames pointed out, he was not a virtuoso composer like Liapunov or Balakirev. I believe he was a good pianist but not a virtuoso one.

Difficulty is overrated, anyway.
