You're in quite an interesting position; you're a pop lover and yet you can't even formulate a somewhat coherent argument as to why our tastes of classical music are so "trash".
Form a coherent argument and I'll respond. Deal?

ikr, swagmaster? A lot of recommendations are a bit "sophisticated". For example, Brahms, Beethoven, Modern Music etc. are too sophisticated for my taste. I used to loathe Prokofiev, but that's changed.

You've posted numerous things, that song being one of them.
Also, Two Chainz is technically pop-rap, so yes, you do like pop ;)
You still have yet to form a coherent argument..

To be fair my post was vague.
I should've said, "You've posted numerous things that support you disliking classical, that song being one of them."
Again, though, you still haven't actually given any basis for why our taste is trash.

So that makes the piano music we cite lesser how, exactly?
Even if lack of response to a "Travvy music vid", as you called it, were indicative of poor character,  that would be among the users, not the music we listen to.

Not objectively lesser, I just don't like it / connect with it as much so I call it trash. Like there are songs that in the right mood can completely take over my sensations and put me in a different world.  That is my indicator for whether or not I like a piece of music. Basically every single detail just coalesces and compels you to keep listening.
I really like some classical pieces though. More specific moments. For example,

The buildup at :28 + the sudden string crescendo at :32 + the main theme immediately following
I found so amazing and just for that reason I'll say that's one of my favorite pieces.

I was born that way.
I woke up at 3 AM with Collins-Van Zant Free Bird running through my head and twitching my fingers, so I spent 90 minutes relearning the first 8 bars on organ with tibia & glockenspeil stops, then transposing to a key I can sing.  Then playing and singing it.  ~300 bars to go, plus finding a guitar player who pitch bends or installing that feature on my organ.  (theremin on the music rack?) I also did a quick runthrough of R, Dwight's Blue Canoe to check how it sounded with Hammond glock instead of piano I learned it on.
My major effort this year has been through summer practice on Pictures at an Exhibition on piano. All of it. Great Gate of Kiev I can finally stop hesitating now that I bought reading glasses: and wrote some chord names out on the score.
Three Scott Joplin rags and two JS Bach 2 part inventions are in my "play every day" inventory.  I got some serving ladies dancing on Maple Leaf Rag last Saturday at the charity dinner I wash dishes at.  JS Bach Passacaglia & Fugue C min is on hold for the completion of Pictures plus I have to make some organ shoes: since every **** pair on the internet is made by serfs in *****.   I'm adding some imitation Count Basie to my repretoire, Count on Him by Claude Bolling is beginning to gel.   Original Boogie Woogie by Pinetop is progressing, stopped a bit by my mislaying the original at home when I changed pianos; the copy is out in the country trailer where I practiced it this summer.  (Broke a hammer on the Steinway this summer, fixed a broken string on the Sohmer tuned it and moved practice into the spare room.  On to rainy day projects like action repair in October)
I have to admit I am underwhelmed by most Chopin and Rachmanoff pieces, the two passions on this board.  The two or three top C & R pieces are overplayed on the FM radio, so I don't feel the need to duplicate them myself.  Raindrop & Prelude Cmin?  I did the light version of the Rach Prelude as a third or fourth year student; I don't feel the compulsion to play the real version.

so because no one listens to your renditions of pop songs on a site for classical pianists... we all have trash tastes in music....

that sounds incredibly narcissistic...  if you don't like my music you have bad taste in music.. that is in essence what you are saying here.

it takes too much effort to appreciate
classical music...       again...because you have trouble understanding or appreciating classical music... it's trash?

and for the record.. there are many classical pieces you can dance too... Minuets, waltzes, tarantellas, tangos... just to name a few.

If I have misunderstood you I do apologize..  :) please restate your argument if that is indeed the case...  because at this point you have none.

Yes, I really, honestly, truly do think that every single individual on this forum likes music that is inferior to the likes of Miley Cyrus and One Direction, and that classical music as a whole is definitively below popular music in quality / musical worth. Also, Fur Elise is the greatest thing that ever came out of Beethoven's half-baked compositional mind.
Thats no reason to persecute me

Jesus Christ
I play hymns praising him, too. I was aplauded by the serving ladies Saturday for In the Garden which the church never plays.
At age 3 I was alternating records of Teddy Bear Picnic and the kiddy story version of Tchaikovski's Sleeping Beauty on my Bozo the Clown record player.  I don't find classical music scary at all.  In fact at 4 AM last night, I  played Tchaikovski Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies using glock & bass clarinet stops, in between Lynard Skynyrd and Elton John.

ok... some hints for further trolling...so you will get a few more folks angry and not look like such an amateur.

your anger inducing statement...  "inferior to the likes of Miley Cyrus"  --- now you see that's such a stretch that it's really not even offensive..  it's just hilarious.

same with "classical music" as a whole being inferior to popular music...  again it's so out there.. it's not causing anger.. just a mere chuckle...

Even saying Fur Elise was the best from the "half-baked" Beethoven...     I am curious as to what "half-baked" means to you in this context..  are you suggesting he was stoned?  or just burned out?    maybe I would be more offended if you explained what you meant... but right now--a stoned Beethoven... sure... that's funny too.

anyway Fur Elise is the best piece by Beethoven... because it's the only piece of his music--outside of Moonlight Sonata and maybe the 5th and 9th symphonies..  that you know the name of.  So to you... it is the best thing he wrote...  how can I be offended by that?

the best tollers here... start as lurkers...  they pay attention to what we actually do disagree on and try to instigate us with anger inducing statements based on those topics.    They are just as easy to spot... because they use big theory words that they don't understand.

so my advice is--for future trolling expeditions

1.  learn what pisses people off here
2.  learn the "lingo" of the piano and music...  if you use these words correctly... you have a real shot.

Next time do your homework.

GRADE:  48%  F  I'm disappointed in you swagmaster..  you could have made a much better grade had you prepared..  oh well... maybe next time.

no probably not.... some waltzes you can dance to --others you can't... surely you are not suggesting that these four examples prove your statement that you can't dance to classical music...because if you think it does... I have but one word for you... BALLET.

let's rephrase that statement and make it true shall we...    what you meant to say was not " you (implying the general public) can't dance to classical music"  but rather... "I can't dance to classical music.."  now your statement is true... and no one here will argue with you about that.

ok while we are at it... "classical music is too hard to appreciate."    You mean---"classical music is too hard for ME to appreciate "  there we go... now we have two completely true statements.

"that's no reason to persecute me"-- ok well now I see a few chuckles on this thread--but certainly no persecution...  unless of course you feel that because no one listens to your audition room posts--and we are disagreeing with you right now...  that this is a form of persecution.

:-\   well I am glad we got that straightened out.

Quantity is a quality in itself, which by virtue of being present, often implies many other qualities worthy of note.

yeah... think of all the psychoanalysis you could do...

or maybe that means you're a troll. is that not the definition of "troll?" "reaction farming?"
you're school-age... so you know "obvious troll is obvious." and we probably shouldn't feed the trolls

are you speaking to me or to the OP?   I have been accused of being insensitive here a time or too...but never of "trolling"   ---and I am way past school aged.  You are not the first to comment on my psychoanalysis either...lol.

just wondering...  :)
