I'm not a Piano World refugee...
on: December 22, 2004, 10:43:30 AM
Just a two-timing internet piano forum floozy!  :)

I like the look of this place; the bias towards playing the piano suits me.

I must thank Jolly - I wouldn't have found this new hangout without him.  And hello to all you migratory members as well!

*sigh* another one lost to Piano Forum. I like it here and all, but I don't think I'll ever be able to say goodbye to Piano World.

So do like David.  You're young.  It's only natural you'd experiment a little.  You're too young to be all married and settled down.  ;D

Hello "athykay", hi "Chickering9"!  :D

Hmm... The calming background; nice, friendly faces; oodles of pianism... What's the catch with this place?

I feel like I'm being drawn over to the dark side.  ;)

I figure to check things out here as well. And yes, it was Jolly's post that clued me in to this place's existance.

Since my posting bandwidth has always been limited, I'll have to see how this works out in the long run. Not sure I can handle the extra stress of TWO piano forums!  :o

Who said anything about saying goodbye?  I'm not.  I like both places.  But I wish we could have avatars here.  I kinda miss mine.

Hi Guys - I'm not a refugee/deserter either - I like the saying "make new friends, but keep the old."  Just wanted to say "hi" and see what's up.

I can hardly be called a PW refugee, as my posting there is infrequent. But now I'll be an infrequent poster at both places.

(But probably less infrequent at this place.)  :)

Edit: Wanna know how I found out about this place? Jolly solicited my curiosity.  ;D

I'm Egon.  I come from the other universe and as others have said we have no plans to take over your forum.  We're just friendly people that want to chat.

We are sweet and lovely. one and all.  We just want to share piano help, talk shop and once and a while shoot the breeze.  We are altogether friendly (except for one little sidelight--we plan to mate with your women and have them bear our children to create a sub species  piano alien that will conquer the guitar universe--but that story can wait for anther time,   ;D)

I'm not a refugee here, I've been a member since Sept. 2003.  And I still hang out in both places.  I tended to post more on PW because my initial interest was in pianos, and the other forum has a much more active and knowledgeable section on instruments.  Now that I'm back into playing, I find this board has a lot to offer in performance and repertoire information.

I would like to clear something up.  I'm the one who posted the Piano Forum rules in another thread.  A newbie, commenting on how polite PF seems to be, asked whether these fora were moderated.  I didn't know the answer either, so I went searching, found the rules and posted them, primarily because they state that there *is* a moderator.

The rules were not posted by the moderator, they were posted by me.  They were not put up as a warning to anyone.  None of the newbies that joined PF need a warning.  They are, on the whole, polite, considerate and interesting folks.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that those who are impolite, inconsiderate, and boring stay away from Piano Forum.
