The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

This is for college pre-screening. I hope you enjoy! This Mazurka is one of my favorite Chopin pieces. There's such a beautiful atmosphere and sense of color throughout.

OMG your playing makes me feel so sad (in a good way, though :) ).

I love how you are able to make this piece so sad, even at such a high tempo. (For me, if I want to make something sad, I have to play it REALLY SLOW.... for example, my Abschied  ;D )

I like this piece a lot, and I also like Solveig's Song by Grieg. He himself made a transcription of it in his Song Transcriptions for Solo Pino, Op. 52. He also made 2 other transcriptions in his Peer Gynt piano versions, but I prefer the transcription in Op. 52. Maybe if you have time, you can play that 8)

I wish you would make playlist son YouTube of you playing (1) Chopin mazurkas (2) Chopin non-Mazurkas (3) Your own compositions. (And please don't put in too many pretty compositions :P )

Thank you so much guys! Emily, when I get a chance I'll definitely do that. Hopefully I can start composing again soon.

Beautifully played. I love mazurka. However because of their melancholic mood (which you conveyed perfectly) they are not my top favorite pieces.
