Somehow I prefer your Chopin performances. This Mozart is nice too, but it doesn't engage me as much. That's my only suggestion, is to make it as good as your Chopin :o

Maybe its the recorder, or the ppiano.

I suggest use a Bosendorfer next time. They're the European equal to Steinway.

Naturally, I have more of an affinity for Chopin. So I see what you mean. But could you be more specific in what you don't necessarily like about the performance/atmosphere I convey. Is it too romantic in style?

No, no... I don't give a ..... on how romantic it is.

I just don't think it speaks to the audience as much as you have the potential for.

Ive been working n this problem lately, and its really hard. But I think youre smart enough to get it done quickly. For me, its a different story...

Hi AJ

Just a couple of thoughts from the peanut gallery?
Very expressive, and lyrical, as always.  A delight to the ears.
Is there too much rubato to please Wolfie?  He was a stickler for tempo and there seems to be some venturing to Chopin-land
Eights in RH, for example, end of measure 1... is this a little too short to match the 16th note in the left?
I do not have an urtext edition, so I am not sure-- but is the last note RH, m1, part of the first phrase?  That is what I heard, but not what I see on my edition.

Thanks so much for sharing-- Mozart is one of my favorite composers, but a huge struggle for me

Hi dogperson,

Thank you so much for your kind comments and feedback. I appreciate it very much! I agree that there might have been a bit too much liberty with time. Good observation on the first measure. At the end of the first measure phrase the right hand plays an eighth note. Then when measure two ends its an eighth note but articulated staccato. Silly me for not noticing that discrepancy! Thank you!

My gripes with these are fairly small; great playing as always.
It seems like Chopin was attempting to imitate Mozart with the way you play it ;) You want each composer's identity to be somewhat clear when you're playing.
The other gripe (and this may be due to recording equipment) is one I share with your recording of the third movement; your tone sounds almost hollow, or empty. It doesn't sound full. Make sure you're getting the full sound of out each key; of course it can't be harsh, but make sure you are getting good sound.

Hi chopinlover01,

As usual, thank you for your very nice and insightful comments! I do have a tendency to romanticize non romantic composers a bit too much eh  ::) ? I think your second point has to do with the recording equiptment. The mic I have does a great job for $80. But with that said, its an $80 mic ... Thanks again for commenting!
