Going to start learning piano. Recommend a few pieces?
on: October 27, 2015, 12:57:56 PM
Hey there. I'm going to start learning how to play the piano. I think I will try some of Bach's Inventions, but would like some other easy pieces to try out.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Thanks for the recommendation! There's a cello version by Popper as well, so I can learn both. :P

Possibly Czerny for beginners https://imslp.org/wiki/Practical_Exercises_for_Beginners,_Op.599_(Czerny,_Carl)

Set of progressive musical pieces, build up your music-reading skills as well as getting progressively harder. There are a number of different studies you can go through with Czerny.

There's no 1 "right" method of learning the piano as such but to ensure no matter what it is structured and progressive. Usually that's something a piano Teacher will outline for you, but if you don't have one, or don't want one, the next best thing i'd say is to use studies such as these that develop all your fingers and not just pieces you like.
